Never Let You Go: Save Me Series Book 2 Page 13
“You like that?” he whispered in her ear, still behind her, longing to see what her face looked like.
“Ahh…” she clenched her jaw and hissed and when she ground into him again, he almost lost it completely.
Taking his fingers away, she moaned again and he rolled on his back, his manhood standing at attention under the sheet. Amelia moved to her side, facing him now, her cheeks flush from the physical endurance her body just took part in. Reaching under the sheet, she stroked him, his girth almost too big for just one of her hands. Pausing at the tip, she smoothed her index finger over it, the touch so arousing that Rodney closed his eyes and moaned a sound from deep in his throat.
The warmth of her mouth surprised him and he opened his eyes to see her taking him in, so deep that he hit the back of her throat. Pulling her hair out of the way, he held it up and watched her face as she continued to lick and suck his shaft. It was incredible and he throbbed, knowing any second he would finish in her mouth. Moving his hips away, he held onto her hair, hindering her attempts to continue the blowjob. Shaking his head, he took a deep breath. Pace was the name of the game and if she stayed down there, it’d be over way too soon.
Adjusting her hair, she smiled his way, sending a chill down Rodney’s spine. She was beautiful, good in bed, and he still couldn’t believe she was here and this was happening. She didn’t say anything, but her gaze asked him what they would do next.
Rodney motioned toward the nightstand, staying on his back. “Get a condom out of the top drawer.”
She did as he asked and ripped open the package. Without asking, she slipped it on him, his skin glistening from what her mouth had just done. Just the feel of the condom going over his erection made him close his eyes again. Her touch did something that drove him wild.
“Hop on,” he said, smiling.
Amelia straddled him, reaching down to guide him to her entrance. His tip rested right on her until she sunk down, her hips meeting his, his entire length pushing deep within her. Her walls spasmed around him, gripping him like she was the perfect fit for his size. He held onto her hips, his hands digging into each, guiding her body up and down on him, slipping fast down every inch.
The angle provided a perfect view of her body on top of him. Her breasts bounced as she rode him, her legs spread, her back arching as her eyes rolled in the back of her head. Reaching up, he squeezed both of her breasts, using them as leverage. She rested both hands on either side of his head, her hips continuing to take him in and out, some quick pulses, some slow.
Looking up into her eyes, they held eye contact for several seconds, the smile on her face proving that he was satisfying her.
“Rodney… oh my… Rodney.” Her back arched again and he felt himself come, his come shooting up into the condom. His hips bucked upward, lifting her off the bed and his orgasm lasted longer than any he’d ever had. He closed his eyes and growled, the feeling so amazing that he feared he’d pass out from euphoria.
Her body shook and she laid on top of him. He stayed inside of her, his arousal fading. Unwilling to pull out, he pumped a few more times and stopped. If he continued, the purpose of the condom would be wasted and they couldn’t risk a pregnancy. Pulling out, he missed her wetness and warmth. He couldn’t get enough of her and was already craving the next time he could make love to her.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Amelia scooted behind him, her body pressed against his back. She was still breathing hard, her nipples erect on him, the rise and fall of her chest sensual. Hugging him, she kissed the back of his neck, their bodies intertwined and sweaty.
“Maybe I should call in sick to work. I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to walk,” Amelia said, laughing.
Rodney kissed her hand and glanced over his shoulder at her. “Not a bad idea. I don’t know if I’ll be able to walk, either. You’re doing things to me, Amelia. And I like where this is going.”
“Me too.”
“My biggest issue is what we will tell Justin when he wakes up. He’s gonna want to know why you’re here so early.”
“Tell him I came over to have breakfast with y’all.”
Rodney leaned back, enjoying the feel of her breasts pressed into him. “I eventually can’t lie to him. But for now, that’s what we’ll say.”
***
The next morning at work, Rodney had a hard time focusing. His time spent with Amelia had been amazing and just as expected, Justin had a lot of questions about her being there when he woke up. As Amelia had planned, they had fibbed and told him she had come by for breakfast but Justin wasn’t stupid - even at his young age, he was likely starting to put the pieces together about the progression of the relationship with Amelia.
And though they had moved it forward with sex, Rodney wondered exactly what the progression meant. Were they a couple? Were they just having fun? He wondered what Amelia might consider it to be. He feared small town gossip about moving too fast after his divorce. Did Amelia feel that was what was happening?
There were too many questions that needed answers to. He cared for Amelia and he couldn’t deny that the sex was fantastic. It was a better connection than he had ever shared with Susan, which had to mean something, though the love word terrified him. It was definitely too soon to be spouting that off, though a part of him did feel that way. He’d never admit it out loud, at least not yet.
“You got something on your mind?” Hector tossed Rodney a towel and he felt his cheeks heat up. He had been so lost in thought he didn’t realize what he was doing.
“What makes you think that?” Shit, Rodney - cool as a cucumber.
“You’ve just been staring at that half of the roof for a while. You gonna rip those shingles off or go to sleep?”
Rodney ignored Hector’s question and went back to work, though he couldn’t get his mind to shut down about the past twenty-four hours. He thought about Amelia’s body, naked underneath him. Her ample breasts, her long legs, the way she tasted. He felt himself go hard in his jeans and tried to think up anything else that would kill the erection. Thankfully, his shirt was long enough to hide it - how would he explain it when the guys started giving him a hard time about that?
He worked up until three o’clock and had to stop to pick up Justin from school. He was still anxious about getting there in case Susan got crazy and wanted to get him. She might have been capable of doing it but Rodney had to hope that she wasn’t that stupid.
Pulling up to the curb, he got in line behind the rest of the parents waiting to get their kids. It was another reason to get there at a good time - waiting behind buses and other parents was always a headache and picking Justin up always had the potential to take well over thirty minutes. His truck edged closer to the front of the building where many of the kids waited. He drummed his index finger on the steering wheel and adjusted his sunglasses, watching the people who were leaning on the nearby chain link fence. Sometimes parents walked to get their kids and that was the general area to wait for those on foot.
Rodney never gave it a second glance until he saw a woman who looked almost identical to Susan. Doing a double-take, he squinted to get a better look. He was about five car lengths away from her but there was no mistaking that it was her. She was with a man that looked familiar, though he wasn’t sure where he had seen him. They both looked like they were up to no good and a chill shot down Rodney’s spine. The cars in front of him wouldn’t move fast enough and he contemplated getting out of his truck and approaching them.
People weren’t supposed to abandon their vehicles in the line he was in. There was enough space to do a U-turn and actually park the truck in a parking lot. Would there be time? He didn’t want to take his eyes off Susan and the mysterious man. They could swoop in and get Justin in a matter of seconds. The line wasn’t moving. To hell with the rules. Rodney put the truck in park and got out, hurrying toward the fence Susan was leaning on.
He didn’t want to cause a scene but he also wanted to get to the bottom of her
plan. Someone behind him yelled that he couldn’t park on the curb but he ignored it. They could tow it for all he cared, as long as he made sure Justin was okay.
Now, less than a foot away, Rodney fought the urge to grab her arm and push her away. His anger was boiling over and it took everything in him to compose the emotion. Susan turned to face him, her eyes wide, though there was a hint of mischief in her expression. She knew this would get under his skin. He was giving her the reaction she wanted.
“Susan, what in the fuck are you doing here?”
Chapter Eighteen
Amelia glanced at the clock, longing for the last bit of her shift to be over. It was a slow day at the hardware shop and time was crawling. All she could think about was Rodney and the night they had shared together. She was sore from the physical endurance he had put her through but the exhaustion was worth it. She hoped she’d get to see him again that evening but she didn’t want to push it. He had texted her a few times throughout the day but the communication had abruptly ended around three o’clock, which was likely because he had to pick up Justin. Him having a child complicated things but Justin was a treasure. He’d eventually catch on to her going over there and put the puzzle pieces together.
“Call it a day, Amelia. I’ll close up shop.”
“Are you sure, Steve? I can finish up cleaning.”
Steve, the owner of the shop, held his hand up and nodded. “It was a slow day. Not much to clean. Go home and get some rest. You work too hard.”
“Thanks, Steve. I appreciate it.” She grabbed her purse and went to the parking lot, lost in thought over the past twenty-four hours. She couldn’t stop smiling at how things were transpiring. No one had ever made her so happy.
“You like messing with my husband?”
The voice pulled Amelia from her euphoric mood and she noticed a woman leaning against her car. She recognized her from the pictures she had seen in Rodney’ house. It was Susan and Amelia felt her heart skip a beat. The other woman’s arms were folded over her chest, her brow creased, her mouth set in a hard line. How did she find Amelia? It was a small town but the situation was unnerving.
“Excuse me?” Amelia asked, pulling her keys out. There was a small can of pepper spray on the key chain that might come in handy.
“Oh, I think you heard me. I’ve seen you together. I know you spent the night last night.”
Susan didn’t look good. The bags under her eyes were dark, her hair was a mess, and she looked like she needed to eat. Amelia never knew how she looked before, but at least in her pictures, she didn’t look that bad. She never would’ve guessed that Rodney had exaggerated about the woman’s drug use but seeing it in real life confirmed everything he had told her about the woman.
“I don’t think what Rodney does now is any of your business.” Amelia knew better than to engage in the argument but Susan didn’t have the right to get into either of their personal lives.
Susan arched her eyebrow and bobbed her head. “No? My son is in that house. You think I want him hearing you two fuck each other while he’s in the next room? Take it from me, honey. Rodney isn’t exactly quiet when it comes to that sort of thing.”
Amelia went to the driver’s side door to get in but Susan scooted to block her. Amelia stepped back, looking straight in Susan’s blood-shot eyes. How could this be happening? Her wonderful mood had suddenly been sucked away from her, all at the hands of a jealous ex-wife. It’s exactly what she feared would happen if she and Rodney had taken things to the next step, only now, it was happening a lot quicker than she would’ve ever guessed.
“This conversation is over,” Amelia said. “If you’re gonna use profanity at me and not handle this in a civil matter, we have nothing more to say to each other.”
“Oh, don’t act like you’re an angel. You aren’t even married to Rodney so don’t act holier than thou after what you’ve done with him.”
“Please, let me get in my car. I’m not gonna stand out here and fight with you about this.” Amelia was trying to stay calm and handle it like an adult but Susan was making it challenging. “Rodney is divorced. Rodney has custody of Justin. And not that I have to justify a thing to you, Susan, but we are careful when it comes to Justin hearing things. It is none of your business and you need to move on. The papers have been signed.” She had already said more than what Susan deserved, but just as Amelia had thought earlier - Justin was a factor. He wasn’t a burden at all but something Rodney definitely had to take into consideration when it came to relationships.
Susan scooted away, allowing Amelia access to her car. Her snide expression infuriated Amelia but the woman wasn’t worth getting into a fight with. “Have fun with Rodney while you can. It’s not gonna last. And this isn’t over. You haven’t seen the last of me.”
Amelia ignored her, though her comment stung. What did she mean by it? Would Rodney discard her like a piece of trash now that he got what he wanted from her? She wasn’t going to allow Susan to conjure up any doubts. That’s all she was up to - ruining something good because she couldn’t keep her marriage going.
Driving away, she dialed Rodney’s number. It rang twice and he picked up, his tone about as dark as the situation that had just played out.
“Hello?”
“Rodney, I’m coming over. We need to talk.” She didn’t give him a chance to say anything before she hung up, taking one last glance in the rear-view mirror. Susan was no longer int he parking lot and a chill shot down Amelia’s spine. She couldn’t give the woman satisfaction but her behavior did open up a reason for her and Rodney to talk about what they were in for.
***
Rodney paced until Amelia got there. He was still livid over his encounter with Susan in the parking lot at school and Amelia’s phone call didn’t help. What was going on with her? Was this the moment when she’d admit that being with him was a mistake and everything they had shared the night before was a mistake? On top of everything, he wouldn’t be able to take it if that was the case.
Hearing her car pull up, he went out on the porch and waited. She was definitely upset about something and the mere seconds it took for her to get from the car to the porch was torture. She didn’t say anything but her eyes were red and her cheeks were wet from crying. A small trail of mascara formed down her face and Rodney reached out and wiped it away with his thumb.
“Amelia, what is going on?”
“Where’s Justin?”
“In his room.”
She nodded. “Let’s go inside.” Glancing over her shoulder, she acted like she was being watched. Leading her inside, Rodney shut the door and sat beside her on the couch.
“What’s wrong, Amelia?”
“I uhh…” She hesitated, looking down at her hands. “Susan confronted me when I left work today.”
Rodney immediately saw red. The woman had the audacity to show up at school and that was crossing the line. Messing with Amelia took it even farther. “Say that again.” He knew exactly what Amelia had said but he wanted to make sure he heard her correctly.
“Susan was waiting by my car when I left work today. She confronted me about…” Amelia made eye contact with him and clasped her hands as a few more tears fell down her cheeks. “She said us being together was her business because of Justin. She basically made me feel like shit, Rodney. Like I’m the scarlet devil or something.”
“No. No, hell no.” Rodney shook his head and stood up, fighting the urge to punch the wall. “What does Justin have to do with this?”
“Everything, Rodney. I’m not saying Susan was right for doing what she did but were we careful last night? Could he have heard us?”
Rodney sat back down on the couch and scrubbed his palm down the side of his face. “Don’t give Susan the power to doubt anything you have done with me. She’s done worse in Justin’s presence so she’s going to pick at anything she can to make herself feel better about all of the shitty things she’s done. She’s a terrible mother so she wants me to be a ter
rible father. She wants anyone that comes into my life to leave me.”
“If I’m in the way I want you to tell me, Rodney. I know going through the divorce is a lot. It’s a lot for Justin. And here I come, throwing another curve ball your way.”
“You’re not in the way. Never. If anything, you are what is keeping me sane in all of the bullshit I’m going through.” A sinking feeling settled in the pit of Rodney’s stomach. He wasn’t going to let Amelia go. Susan couldn’t be that powerful, though the fear was written right on Amelia’s face. Susan had gotten to her. Her damn mind games were wreaking havoc on everything Rodney loved.
“What about Justin?”
“What about him?” Rodney scoffed and stood up again. “He enjoys being around you, Amelia. He’s just a kid. They adapt well. Believe me, if I felt like you weren’t jiving with him, I’d let you know. He’s the most important thing in my life but so are you. And things are clicking well.” Rodney couldn’t believe what he was saying but it came out easy.
“She was scary, Rodney. She was being malicious.”
He knelt on the floor beside Amelia and took her hand, kissing it. Whispering, he said, “I know. I’m sorry. I’m sorry you had to go through that.”
“She’s not gonna stop.”
“She’ll lose interest. She’ll get her hands on some drugs and some guy who is willing to pay for them and all of this will be done.” He debated on telling Amelia about her showing up at school. It was best to let her know. Susan would let it come out regardless, so it was best to be honest. “She was at school today when I picked up Justin.”
Amelia’s eyes widened. “What happened?”
“I confronted her. She was with some guy. She said she just wanted to see Justin. I’m scared she’s gonna sneak past the monitor and pick him up before I can. Every day I rush over there to beat her. I’ve given the school a head’s up but there is only so much they can do.”
